Woodford County and Versailles need to balance rural preservation, development flexibility, public safety, infrastructure capacity, and emerging high-impact uses such as data centers. Citizens should pay close attention now, because text amendments and governance decisions can shape future development long before specific projects appear.

Based on currently approved housing/apartment projects, if all are developed over the next couple of years the Versailles population density would expand by 51% to something on the order of 15,000 residents, representing the fastest sustained growth period in the 200+ year history of the city. If true, that makes this current discussion more important than ever. It also makes it more essential than that we make sound decisions because of the long-term, lasting impact on the current residents. Along with our schools, our public infrastructure, & of cost of living.
