Article VII (Zoning Ordinance)
Woodford County and Versailles need to balance rural preservation, development flexibility, public safety, infrastructure capacity, and emerging high-impact uses such as data centers. Citizens should pay close attention now, because text amendments and governance decisions can shape future development long before specific projects appear.

Joe Johnson for District 7 Magistrate:
Rooted in Woodford County, Ready to Lead
Some candidates study Woodford County. I lived it — for more than 40 years, farming its land, raising a family, and engaging the community neighbors who call it home. That firsthand experience means I understand what our farmland, our neighborhoods, and our way of life are worth — and what stands to be lost if growth outpaces good judgment.
As President of the Cedar Ridge HOA, I have already done the hard work of bringing city and county together, because he knows Woodford’s future depends on both working as one. That same instinct led him to help build Woodford Advocates, an effort that has given residents a real, organized voice in the decisions shaping our community — proof that engagement, not silence, is how citizens protect what matters.
I bring more than roots to this race. With a BS in Agronomy, an MS in Genetics, a postgraduate business degree, six professional certifications, and experience leading corporate teams of more than 4,000 people, I have the discipline to research issues thoroughly, the clarity to communicate honestly, and the courage to articulate what citizens need — even in the county’s toughest decisions.
Woodford County stands at a genuine crossroads on growth. The choices made in the next four years will shape this county for generations. Joe Johnson has the judgment to make those choices wisely, and the accountability to always answer to the people of District 7 first.
Roots deep. Vision clear. Woodford’s future, in good hands.

Based on currently approved housing/apartment projects, if all are developed over the next couple of years the Versailles population density would expand by 51% to something on the order of 15,000 residents, representing the fastest sustained growth period in the 200+ year history of the city. If true, that makes this current discussion more important than ever. It also makes it more essential than that we make sound decisions because of the long-term, lasting impact on the current residents. Along with our schools, our public infrastructure, & of cost of living.
